All your hard work has paid off! You have made it to finals. I’m so excited for the week to start, but it is bittersweet. Some of our best friends will be leaving us this year. Every year at finals we must say goodbye to our Seniors. I hope you all enjoy your last rodeo with the AHSRA. We will miss you next year when the season starts. Please drop in and see us when you can.
Please check the schedule Mrs. Karen has posted, so that you don’t miss important meetings. She has detailed out the whole week. There are no excuses for being late, she has listed everything.
There are a few things that I would also like to remind you. Wednesday June 12, we have mandatory check in. Also during this time our student officer candidates will be announced. Each of them will give a speech during this time. Listen to each candidate speech and decided for yourself which one will do the best job for the AHSRA. These students will be the “face” of the association. They have duties as officers, interviews and meetings to attend. Vote for who you believe will work the hardest for our association.
On Thursday June 13 the theme for the night performance is Tough Enough to Wear Pink. We will have a flag demonstration before grand entry. If you would like to help, please let me know as soon as you can.
Make sure you come to the drawdown luncheon on Friday June 14. We will have the ballots for the student officers, when you arrive. It is important you are there to cast your vote. Also during the luncheon the queen contestants will give their speeches. This is great practice for the Queen going to Nationals next month. You also get to see some of the hard work each girl has put into the queen contest. This will be the same speech she will have given during the judging earlier in the week. Then we will have the drawdown for the MONEY!
The theme for Friday night June 14 is OUR STATE….ALABAMA. Wear Red or White for our state colors. I will be using the flags that spell Alabama. Please call me if you can help with this grand entry.
Saturday is our Alumni Rodeo! It starts at 9:00 am. Please be up and ready to greet our returning contestants. Be sure to go see Mr. Harvey, he will need our help during the rodeo to keep it running smoothly.
Saturday night will be our finals and the theme is We Salute our Military. Please wear Red, White, or Blue for this performance. I will also need help again from our rough stock riders. Please call me and let me know if you would like to help with grand entry. Also if a contestant is going to have family members who have served in the military at the rodeo, please let me know ahead of time. I would also like to include them in our pre-grand entry performance. Please call me with their names and how they are related to you as soon as possible.
This will be one busy week for everyone. Please help out when you can and enjoy every second of your finals. With everyone working together, I know this will be a GREAT RODEO!
