Welcome to the official site of the Alabama High School Rodeo Association. AHSRA, a 501(c)(3) corporation, is a member of the National High School Rodeo Association headquartered in Denver, CO. Membership is limited to students 19 years old or younger and enrolled in the 9th-12th grades. The rodeo season begins in September and culminates in June with the AHSRA State Finals Rodeo. Rodeo events include cutting, bareback, saddle bronc, breakaway, calf roping, pole bending, steer wrestling, goat tying, team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Contestants compete for points throughout the season with the top 4 point earners in each event qualifying to represent Alabama at the National High School Finals Rodeo. Membership packets are available in August for the upcoming season and students can join anytime throughout the season - there is no deadline for membership. Check this site often for rodeo schedules, points, and other important rodeo news. | Contestants and Parents! - Monday, June 10, 2013Don't Forget - MANDATORY Meeting, Wednesday, 5:30 (Full Western Attire) in the Arena. Seniors applying for scholarships must turn in application and transcript at check in. Anyone who has NOT sent their report card must have that as well.

| Nationals Finals Basket - Tuesday, June 04, 2013This year's basket theme for the NHSRA basket is "Happy Trails from the State of Alabama." Please bring a horse related item to the AHSRA state finals in June. I will collect all of the items and put them with a saddle stand to send to nationals. Let's make Alabama proud by having an awesome basket for the silent auction.
Items that you may want to bring:
halters, brushes, mane combs, fly sprays, bottles of Show Sheen, wormers, saddle blankets, buckets, scoops, etc.

| SCHOLARSHIPS - Thursday, May 30, 2013SENIORS - The scholarship application is posted above. You must have a copy of your transcript to apply. Application AND transcript is to be turned in at check in on Wednesday and interviews will be Thursday morning.

| Alumni Rodeo - Thursday, April 25, 2013 The Newsletter for the 2nd Annual AHSRA Alumni Rodeo is posted above in the Draw/Newsletter section. Entry fees are $60 with a 50% payout. | AD/SPONSORSHIP DEADLINE - Wednesday, March 06, 2013 We still have some Drawdown tickets that need to be sold. If you can sell 1, 2, 5 (or more), it sure would help. We had a few people this weekend that took extras and we appreciate their efforts. Any unsold can be returned. | Dress Code - Monday, January 21, 2013Be Advised!!! Contestants will NO Longer be allowed to wear clothing (jeans or shirts) with holes in them due to SAFETY concerns. Parents, remind your kids and please remind each other of this rule change. You will be disqualified if you are seen wearing clothing with holes. This includes areas that are worn thin and clothing that was intentionally made that way.

| Arena - Wednesday, October 03, 2012Contestants - Please, please, please make a special effort to KEEP YOUR HAT ON your head while competing. It would be most appreciated by our "underpaid, overworked arena volunteers" as well as saving time.
