PLEASE KEEP JOHNATHON VARNER AND HIS FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS. HE WAS IN A VERY BAD CAR WRECK EARLY THIS MORNING. HE IS A FORMER AJRA AND AHSRA CONTESTANT.

The next ACT test date is Saturday, April 10.  We also have a rodeo scheduled April 10 in Goshen, AL. The closest test site to Goshen is Troy, AL (about 15 miles from Goshen). You can select Troy as your test site for the ACT or you can request performance for Saturday night.  When you call-in for Goshen, please indicate if you are scheduled to take the ACT April 10 and you will be given preference for call-in.  Please bring a copy of your ACT admission sheet to the rodeo check-in.

I have received several questions from new members about points at state finals.  It is true - event points are doubled at state finals.  Points are awarded for the 1st Go, the 2nd GO, the short go and the average.  First place earns 20 points, 2nd 18, 3rd 16, down to 10th place earning 2 points.  So, for example, if you won all three rounds, you would get 80 points at state finals (20 for the 1st GO; 20 for the 2nd GO; 20 for the short GO; and 20 for the average).  That is why you hear people say "anything can happen at state finals"!  It is very common for contestants to come in to state finals sitting 13, 14 or 15th and to have a really good finals and end up in the top 4 and qualify to go to Nationals.  So, keep practicing because "anything can (and does) happen at state finals"!   Point Secretary - Ann Simpson

Please check this list to see if you owe money.  If you owe money, it will be collected at check-in at the Bay Minette Rodeo. If you overpaid, your credit will be applied toward Bay Minette entry fees.  Note:  If you were late turning in your ad money, your fine will be added to this list, so check back before the Bay Minette rodeo.  UPDATED 2/25/10 WITH AD FINES!

1. Goshen, Rodeo Call-In Monday, March 29 - Tuesday, March 30, 2010
2. Deadline for ad money  March 31, April 12, 2010 (postmarked).
3. Deadline for Drawdown ticket money and stubs March 31, April 12 2010 (postmarked).

Each contestant must sell a minimum of $300 in ads and/or rodeo sponsorships.  One-half of ads ($150) is due no later than January 31, 2010.   Balance of ads is due March 31, April 12, 2010. For the ad/sponsor contract, click on the "read more..." link below. 

If you have made a payment by check that did not clear your bank, you owe the amount of that check and a $25 fee. Please do not make yourself ineligible to call in by owing back charges. Accounts should be settled promptly. Mail a cashiers check or money order to cover your check and the fee to Carrie Ingram. Thank you.
